If you're traveling on a road that you normally don't travel on, pay attention to the speed limit signs. Just because it is a busy, 4-lane road doesn't mean that the speed limit is 40mph. More then likely, the speed limit is 25mph and you will find that out when the police officer pulls you over (or, actually, waves you over since he's standing on the side of the road with his cute little gun thingy).
He will show you (on the gun thingy) that you were going 15 mph over the speed limit and he will mention that the speed limit is posted at least 5 times between the DMV you just left and where he clocked you. He will also tell you that if you weren't talking to your husband on the phone, you may have noticed those 5 signs.
