Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! I hope you all have fun plans for today and if you're not wearing green, here's a virtual *pinch* for you!
It is funny to me how St. Patty's Day has changed over the years. Don't get me wrong, it is the same holiday, but it is how we celebrate it that changes.
As kids, we found it fun to dress up in green and pinch all of the others kids at school that didn't follow suit - poor kids, bruised by their parent's lack of attention to social norms....
As teenagers, we didn't care because, well, we didn't care about anything - we were nonconformists, just like everyone else.
As young adults (which I still like to consider myself!) we partied like it was our jobs. SPD is such a GREAT excuse to drink green beer, wear crazy outfits and come to work hungover, if at all.
As parents (not it!) we dress up our kids in SPD outfits and post their pictures on Facebook - Yep, Ashley Umstadter, I'm talking to YOU! ;)
However you decide to celebrate tonight, have fun and be safe. Remember - a taxi is cheaper than a DUI.
In good ol' SPD tradition, an Irish Blessing for you in loving memory of Jeff's Grandfather, T.P. Lambert:
May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
